MST has always recognized that confidential information management is very important and has taken great care in handling it.
We have also maintained system in order to protect confidential information.
However, the risks surrounding information security, such as computer viruses, information carried out by insiders, and cyber-terrorism, are increasing.
In light of the importance of the samples and information we receive from our customers for contract analysis, MST decided to strengthen its information security activities throughout the organization. In addition to implementing our own measures, we have acquired ISO27001 certification, an international standard for information security, and have built a management system that constantly uses a PDCA cycle for improvement activities.
We are aware that the environment in the world and the demands from our customers are constantly changing. We will continue to make further improvements so that , with confidence, our customers can request analysis, they can apply for the Yamazaki Teiichi Prize and research projects. "

ISMS Basic Policy

  1. Purpose.
    The Japan Foundation for Materials Science and Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "MST") conducts basic research on new materials in the field of advanced science and technology . Our founding principle is to promote materials science and technology by conducting analysis and evaluation of new materials, thereby contributing to the development of Japan's economy and society and the improvement of people's lives. In order to achieve this, we have established this ISMS Basic Policy and established an information security management system in order to be a foundation that is widely trusted by society.
  2. Information assets to be protected
    Confidential information about customers (corporations, organizations, individuals)
    Confidential information about the application (corporation, organization, individual)
    MST's business know-how
    All other business-related confidential information
  3. Risk assessment
    Implement appropriate risk assessment methods as the basis for assessing risk.
  4. Legal and regulatory compliance
    MST shall comply with all legal, regulatory, and contractual security obligations.
  5. Education of Information Security
    All employees of MST are required to participate in education and training on information security.
  6. Setting of information security goals
    Top management establishes information security goals through defined procedures and ensures that action plans are developed to achieve the goals.
  7. Penalties
    In a case where an employee of MST engages in threatening the protection of MST's information assets, the employee will be subject to disciplinary or legal action in accordance with the enforcement provisions of the Rules of Employment.
  8. Review
    Review and evaluation of the ISMS is carried out at regular management reviews and improvement of the ISMS is always made.
